Neutrinos and electrons in external fields and matter

Alexander Studenikin

Abstract

A generalization of the method of exact solutions of quantum equations for particle wave functions is discussed, aimed at describing particle interaction processes in the presence of electromagnetic fields (the Furry representation of quantum electrodynamics), extended to the case of processes in an external medium.Exact solutions of the Dirac equation for neutrinos in stationary and rotating matter are considered.Based on these exact solutions, the quantum theory of spin light of neutrino in matter (𝑆𝐿𝜈) and the quantization of neutrino energy in rotating matter are discussed. An introduction to the theory of neutrino electromagnetic properties is also provided, along with a discussion of the constraints on the neutrino magnetic moment.Using the exact solutions for neutrino wave functions, flavor, spin, and spin-flavor oscillations of neutrinos in a magnetic field are examined, as well as spin and spin-flavor oscillations of neutrinos induced by interactions with the transverse components of the external medium current.
