Saxsons own-brand SPECT L-Bench engineered for routine SPECT dispensing (Tc-99m at 140 keV), I-131 thyroid-iodine work (364 keV) and β-γ mixed-emission isotopes (I-131, Y-90, P-32, Sr-89). Three lead tiers cover the energy range: 6 mm for SPECT, 12 mm for routine I-131, 25 mm for boosted-I-131 / high-activity therapy work. Optional β-γ hybrid build pairs 6 mm Pb with a 6 mm Perspex inner layer — Perspex handles the beta, lead handles the gamma, and the bremsstrahlung against the lead inner surface is contained. Outer finishes MS painted, SS 202 and SS 304. Sizes from the 13″×13″×17″ Ultra compact through the 18″×17″×26″ standard SPECT tabletop. Designed and manufactured in India by Saxsons Healthcare Pvt. Tc-99m, I-131 and β-γ mixed-emission isotopes across the SPECT and therapy-prep workflow
6 mm tier — Tc-99m-MDP, MIBI, ECD, MAG3, DMSA, sulphur colloid, pertechnetate. The 18″×17″×26″ standard tabletop or 13″×13″×17″ Ultra compact covers the per-shift workflow for routine cardiac / oncology / renal SPECT lists.
12 mm tier — I-131 capsule preparation for diagnostic uptake / scan (3–5 mCi) and post-thyroidectomy ablation prep at lower activities. The 364 keV gamma needs roughly twice the wall thickness of Tc-99m.
25 mm tier — I-131 ablation dispensing at 75–250 mCi for thyroid-cancer post-thyroidectomy ablation. Higher cumulative activity per shift means the shielding tier steps up; the 25 mm wall handles the cumulative dose-rate without exceeding AERB occupational limits.
6 mm Pb + 6 mm Perspex hybrid build — for pure-beta and mixed-emission therapy isotopes. Y-90 microspheres for SIR-T liver, P-32 for myeloproliferative disorders, Sr-89 for bone metastasis palliation. Perspex inner stops the beta, lead handles the gamma + bremsstrahlung.
6 mm tier covers Ga-67 (93, 184, 296, 388 keV mix) and In-111 (171, 245 keV doublet) at routine diagnostic activities. The same standard tabletop covers cardiac and oncology SPECT mixed-isotope lists.
13″×13″×17″ Ultra footprint for hot-labs where the SPECT bench has to sit between the dose calibrator and the fume hood. Same lead tier choices, narrower envelope, lead-glass window in the 12.5″×8″×8 mm compact format.
At 140 keV (Tc-99m photopeak) the half-value layer in pure lead is roughly 0.27 mm — so a 6 mm wall delivers roughly 22 HVL of attenuation (~ 99.99997 % of the primary photon flux removed). Routine SPECT dispensing at typical per-shift activity (10–20 GBq Tc-99m cumulative) sits comfortably inside this envelope.
I-131 emits at 364 keV — substantially harder than Tc-99m. The HVL in lead at 364 keV is roughly 3.0 mm; a 12 mm wall delivers ~ 4 HVL (~ 94 % attenuation). For high-activity ablation (75–250 mCi) the 25 mm tier delivers ~ 8 HVL (~ 99.6 % attenuation) which is the engineering choice for the therapy workflow.
Pure-beta isotopes (Y-90, P-32, Sr-89) need a low-Z absorber (Perspex / PMMA) on the inner surface — high-Z lead generates bremsstrahlung against the beta. The hybrid build is the right answer for the SIR-T microsphere line and the bone-pain palliation programme.
