Saxsons™ Dose DispenserTiltable PET Dose-Withdrawal System with 3-Part Lead or Tungsten Vial Shield
Saxsons own-brand tiltable dose dispenser — the bench-mounted PET dose-withdrawal system that brings the vial neck to the operator syringe without lifting the vial out of the shielded chamber. Two shielding-tier families: a 3-part Lead Pot (RPDD1-A series) or a 3-part Tungsten vial shield (RPDD-J-HRT series) — picked per the radiopharmacy lead vs tungsten preference. Tiltable mechanism + 3-part architecture (top cap + middle cap + base) means only the top cap moves per dispense; the vial stays in the shielded position across the full multi-dispense campaign. Swivel-jaw and with-rod ergonomic variants. Bench-mounted compact footprint pairs with the Saxsons L-Bench PET (NM-036), Lead-Lined Fume Hood (NM-031) and PET tungsten syringe shield range. Designed and manufactured in India by Saxsons Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. in an ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 approved plant. Sign in to view the complete configuration matrix.

Applications
Source-vial stays in the shielded base · only the top cap moves per dispense
[¹⁸F]FDG multi-dose source-vial dispensing
Lead-shielded tier · 3-part Lead Pot. Source vial sits in the base; per-dispense the operator tilts to bring the needle hole to the syringe, withdraws the dose, releases the tilt and the vial returns to upright shielded position.
Ga-68 PET tracer dispensing
Lead-shielded tier covers Ga-68-DOTATATE / DOTATOC / PSMA-11 per-elution dispensing. Same 3-part architecture, same tilt-and-withdraw workflow.
High-activity Lu-177 theranostic dispensing
Tungsten-shielded tier — pairs with the Tungsten 3-part vial shield. The smaller, denser chassis fits Lu-177 PRRT prep with the compact PET vial geometry.
Multi-dispense campaign workflow
Source vial stays in the base across all 25–40 per-shift dispenses; only the top cap moves per dispense. The vial is not lifted out, not re-shielded, not re-handled — minimises operator exposure cumulatively across the shift.
Pairs with Saxsons L-Bench PET workflow
The bench-mount dispenser sits on the Saxsons L-Bench PET worktop (NM-036) next to the dose calibrator. The full Saxsons dispense workflow — fume hood + L-bench + dose dispenser + vial shield + syringe shield + sharps container + waste bin — covers the end-to-end PET dispense cycle.
Ergonomic style choice — tilt / swivel / rod
Three mechanism variants for the same shielding tier. Tilt is the workhorse; swivel-jaw is ergonomic for fixed-height operators; with-rod is the leverage-preferred variant. The radiopharmacy picks per operator preference; the shielded outcome is identical.
Why Saxsons™ Dose Dispenser?
Top cap closes the needle hole; middle cap has the needle-access hole; base holds the vial. Per-dispense: lift top cap, withdraw dose, replace top cap. The vial NEVER comes out of the shielded base across the multi-dispense campaign. Operator hand never approaches an unshielded vial.
The dose-withdrawal step is where operator extremity dose accumulates. A tiltable dispenser brings the needle hole DOWN to the operator-held syringe — the operator hand stays at the syringe plunger, the vial stays in the shielded base. Per-dispense extremity dose drops measurably vs lift-out-and-withdraw.
Lead-shielded tier is the radiopharmacy workhorse (3-part Lead Pot). Tungsten-shielded tier offers an alternate chassis for radiopharmacies that prefer tungsten's high-Z high-density compactness. Same dispense workflow, same 3-part architecture.

FAQ
Tiltable PET dose dispenser — questions we hear from Indian PET / theranostic teams
Why manual PET dispensing burns extremity dose, when to pick Pb vs W vial shield with the dispenser, which PET workflows it fits, and what the four-piece dispensing-line pairing looks like.
Q.What manual step in PET dose dispensing does the tiltable dose dispenser eliminate?
Manual PET dispensing requires the technologist to hold the vial with one hand, hold the syringe with the other, and eyeball the septum penetration under a lead-glass window — all while the 511 keV vial sits within centimetres of the operator hand. The tiltable dose dispenser holds the vial in a fixed 3-part shielded body and tilts it to the correct dispensing angle mechanically; the technologist puts both hands on the syringe alone, at a safer distance from the vial body. Extremity dose per dispensing drops.
Q.Lead or tungsten — which vial-shield to pick with the dispenser?
The dispenser accepts either the Saxsons Lead Vial Shield (30 mm Pb 3-part PET, NM-034) or the Tungsten Vial Shield (20 mm 3-part PET, NM-035). Lead is the cost-optimised choice with a heavier chassis; tungsten gives the same attenuation performance in a smaller, lighter chassis and is preferred where dispensing-line ergonomics or bench footprint matter. The dispenser is compatible with both — the department picks against workflow and budget preference.
Q.Which PET workflows does the dose dispenser fit?
F-18 FDG dispensing (highest throughput), Ga-68 PSMA / DOTATATE / FAPI dispensing (theranostic diagnostic pair), Lu-177 PRRT / PSMA therapy dispensing (high-activity therapy line). The tiltable geometry works for any 511 keV workflow where the technologist withdraws multiple patient doses from one bulk vial across a morning list.
Q.What accessory pairing gives the full dispensing station?
Dose dispenser + matching 3-part PET vial shield (Pb or W) + Saxsons L-Bench PET (NM-036) + Lead-Lined Fume Hood (NM-031). The four together provide the shielding + Grade A airflow + dispensing ergonomics + syringe transport chain for a full 511 keV PET dispensing line. Saxsons sources the four as an integrated package.
Q.Is this a distributor-supplied dispenser or Saxsons-manufactured?
The Dose Dispenser is a Saxsons own-brand product — designed and manufactured in India by Saxsons Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. in an ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 approved plant. Integrates with the Saxsons own-brand vial shields, L-benches and fume hoods so the department gets one dispensing chain from one manufacturer with one AERB documentation dossier.
