Applications
F-18 unit-dose automation inside any shielded laminar-flow cell
F-18 PET tracer unit-dose dispensing
In India, the primary daily workload — FDG, NaF, F-DOPA and PSMA-1007 unit doses drawn from cyclotron-produced bulk into patient syringes / vials. CRP runs the automation; the FLEX (or similar) provides the Grade A shielded environment around it.
Closed-vial dispensing
CRP Compact + piercing option (or CRP Compact plus in its standard config) handles closed-vial dispensing via septum piercing — keeping the dispensed product container sealed from atmospheric exposure.
Open-vial dispensing with crimping
CRP Compact and Compact plus both handle open-vial dispensing with subsequent rubber-stopper + crimped aluminum-ring capping in a single automated sequence.
Push-fit capping (Compact plus)
CRP Compact plus adds push-fit cap support — useful for vial workflows where crimping is not the preferred final-seal method.
Inside-cell automation upgrade
An existing manual hot cell with a calibrator well and telemanipulator can be upgraded to fully automated dispensing by installing a CRP — no full cell replacement needed ((the manufacturer )"compact dimensions, any type of shielded LAF cell" spec).
FLEX + CRP integrated workflow
Specified together, the FLEX dispensing hot cell hosts the CRP as its inside-cell automation. One Saxsons-supplied package: the shielded Grade A environment + the automated dispensing module + the AERB import path.
Why CRP?
Patient dose accuracy starts with dispense accuracy. (the manufacturer )guarantees CRP volume / weight deviation under 1% — the precision floor a modern radiopharmacy expects from automated unit-dose dispensing.
100 CRP units in service around the world per Tema's figure — a meaningfully large reference base for a niche piece of radiopharmacy automation, not a first-of-its-kind risk for the Indian buyer.
CRP installs into any shielded laminar-flow cell with a calibrator well and a telemanipulator. The existing investment in a hot cell carries forward — CRP adds the automation layer on top.

FAQ
Automated radiopharmaceutical dispensing — questions we hear from Indian cyclotron teams
What manual step CRP eliminates for the operator, how it fits EU GMP Annex 1 Grade A dispensing, whether it dispenses multi-tracer sessions, and how the CRP + FLEX integrated supply fits an Indian cyclotron site.
Q.What manual step in a cyclotron radiopharmacy does the CRP dispenser eliminate?
Manual dispensing of PET radiopharmaceuticals requires an operator to draw each patient dose from a bulk vial into an individual syringe, verify activity on a dose calibrator, cap and label the syringe — repeated for every patient on the day list. At 511 keV activity, every one of those steps sits close to the operator hand and body, and human-error rates in activity measurement compound across the shift. CRP automates the full dispensing sequence — vial handling, syringe draw, activity measurement, capping, labelling — inside the dispensing hot cell. The operator sets up the run and the module dispenses the list.
Q.How does CRP fit EU GMP Annex 1 aseptic dispensing requirements?
EU GMP Annex 1 requires aseptic manufacturing steps to happen under Grade A airflow with continuous environmental monitoring. CRP runs inside a FLEX dispensing hot cell that provides the Grade A envelope; the automation itself is closed to the outside environment during the run, and every dispensing step is logged for the batch record. The GMP audit trail is generated automatically instead of hand-written.
Q.Which activity-measurement standard does CRP dispense against?
Each dispensed syringe is measured on an integrated dose calibrator against the site's NIST- or PTB-traceable calibration standard; the measured activity is logged to the batch record and printed on the syringe label. This is what the receiving nuclear-medicine department reads at patient injection time — the printed activity that matches the calibrator reading, at the calibration time on the label.
Q.Does CRP handle multi-tracer sessions (F-18 + Ga-68 + Lu-177)?
Yes. The dispensing sequence, syringe geometry and dose-calibrator settings are configurable per isotope; the module can dispense a morning F-18 FDG list, followed by a Ga-68 DOTATATE list, followed by a Lu-177 PRRT dispensing run — the internal cleaning cycle between isotopes prevents cross-line carry-over.
Q.How is CRP supplied and integrated in India?
CRP is distributed by Saxsons Group as an inside-cell automation module. The typical supply covers CRP + FLEX (the hot cell that hosts it) as an integrated package — one AERB import file, one commissioning cycle. Saxsons handles the CDSCO medical-device import registration and installation across the Indian cyclotron network.
