A dose calibrator ionisation chamber has a defined internal well geometry. Different vial and syringe geometries put different amounts of self-attenuating material between the source and the chamber wall, so the reading changes with geometry — the same activity in a 30 cc vial reads differently from the same activity in a 10 cc syringe. Standard lead shielding rings (Capintec-type 45 mm) sit inside the well to normalise the geometry so the calibration factors developed on a reference source apply to routine clinical vials and syringes.

The 45 mm Capintec geometry is the widely-adopted standard across most Indian NM dose calibrators (Capintec, Vexcal, and cross-compatible OEM chambers). Saxsons supplies the ring set matched to the dose-calibrator model at order — the ring geometry is the same, but the exact fit depends on the well diameter.
