Tc-99m cold-kit reconstitution
Recommended · 3 mm Pb · standard SS 202 inner (BSCLF-42-25-55-3-I-S-B-A-0)
Why · Aseptic Tc-99m kit add (MDP, MIBI, ECD, MAG3, DMSA) under Class A vertical flow. The 3 mm Pb tier is sufficient because the per-kit activity is moderate; HEPA + UV decontamination covers the sterility envelope.
Ga-68 generator elution + DOTATOC labelling
Recommended · 5 mm Pb · SS 202 inner · UV + HEPA + Anti-Microbial (BSCLF-42-25-55-5-I-S-B-A-01-0)
Why · Per-elution Ga-68 activity ≤ 1.85 GBq; 5 mm Pb covers it. Anti-microbial sweep + UV between batches maintains sterile envelope across multiple per-shift elutions.
Lu-177 PRRT / PSMA-617 / FAPI labelling
Recommended · 5 mm Pb · SS 202 inner (BSCLF-42-25-55-5-I-S-B-A-01-0)
Why · Per-batch Lu-177 activity ≤ 7.4 GBq for PRRT / PSMA-617 / FAPI labelling. The 5 mm Pb tier handles the per-batch activity; HEPA + UV between batches covers sterility.
GMP-grade clean-room build
Recommended · 3 mm Pb · SS 304 inner + outer · with wash-basin (BSCLF-47-32-71-3-I-S-C-C-02-0)
Why · For radiopharmacies running active GMP cleaning-validation programme. The integrated wash-basin lets the operator hand-wash inside the cleaning-cycle SOP between compounding sessions; SS 304 surfaces survive daily wet wipe-down without coating degradation.
Sterile dispensing into unit-dose syringes
Recommended · 3 mm Pb (BSCLF-42-25-55-3-I-S-B-A-0) or 5 mm Pb
Why · Final unit-dose dispense step under Class A air to maintain sterility envelope on the injected radiopharmaceutical. Same hood as the labelling step; the radiopharmacy workflow keeps everything inside the laminar-flow envelope.
NOT for hot-lab dispensing (use fume hood instead)
Recommended · WRONG choice — laminar flow is positive-pressure
Why · A laminar flow hood pushes air OUT of the work zone — it blows radioactive aerosols at the operator face. For hot-lab dispensing (FDG, I-131 capsule prep) use the Saxsons Lead-Lined Fume Hood (NM-031) which pulls air INWARD.
